A Wedding at Home - Long Island Wedding Photographer

Jocelyn & David reached out to me last year to photograph their wedding day. On the call, they told me a bit more about their love story, and shared that they had bought a house together with a plan to have their wedding in the backyard. I absolutely loved this idea, I think it’s such a special way to bring your loved ones together and celebrate in a place that is already so special, and will continue to hold these precious memories for years to come.

The part I didn’t expect - Jocelyn & David had transformed their first home together over the last few years and it could not have been more stunning. We felt like we were capturing a wedding in a museum. I knew the day would feel uniquely their own, hosting your wedding celebration at home, but seeing the way they put their heart and soul into decorating and curating a home that feels deeply true to themselves made it feel even more incredible.

And, to top it all off, Jocelyn had spent so much time sourcing vintage wares for the reception tables, her bridesmaid crafted handmade prints for everyone to take home (including us which was so sweet, I have one hanging in my living room now!), she brought together all the details perfectly and the day felt so dreamy.

One unexpected twist, it rained on and off for most of the day. This was a slight bummer as J&D had hoped to take photos at the church following their ceremony (and they did brave the rain for a few photos!) but quite honestly, the rain did not put a damper on the celebration whatsoever! The day carried on, the tents protected us from the passing storms, and by the time the dance floor opened the sun was coming out! The energy stayed positive and the day carried on smoothly, it could not have worked out better.

I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to capture J&D’s wedding day, it feels so special to be invited into these intimate memories. Everytime I photograph a wedding, I just can’t believe I have the privilege of capturing it, and can’t believe I have the trust of such incredible couples!
